Kent School’s Graduation Ceremony in 2023

The future is created by precipitation. The senior student participants took turns on stage, recalling their busy and happy high school years from various perspectives.

For the first time, Kent School’s 2023 graduation ceremony was live-streamed online, allowing all family, friends, and teachers who could not attend Kent School to share in the joy and pride of the celebration. ACED Principals Ruth and David both attended the ceremony. Douglas, the principal of St. Mary’s High School in the United States, traveled over the border for our graduation celebration.

Chairman George Chen delivered the opening words during the graduation ceremony. He wished the students perseverance and courage as they entered the university, society, and an unknown environment, and to embrace their nation with world emotion.

Ruth and David, the two head principals, shared the joy of harvest with the students and parents and encouraged students to enjoy their youth and treasure the present moment while studying hard at university.

Zhang Rui, the Student Council president, revealed every little detail from the start of the school year to graduation and witnessed the joy of getting to know one another, which echoed consistently.

In the form of a dialogue, Gao Xingyi, the Student Council vice president, and Liaison Department Director Shen Mi expressed enthusiasm for the teens’ first trip abroad and the profound connection between teachers and students.

Tao Jianyu, the online course student representative, expressed gratitude to his teachers and parents for their love and support and addressed the challenges and lessons of high school that helped him grow. To change the world, he called students to apply the Kent School motto’s philosophy – Knowledge, Excellence, Nurturing, and Thinking.

Principal Doug appreciated ACED for their ongoing assistance, the dedication of the Chinese and Canadian teams, and the parents’ long-term trust. He also emphasized the progress and reflection that each student brought to him over the period of the semester, and he urged the students to become lifelong learners.

“A picture is worth a thousand words,” Principal Doug concluded with a personally created production, displaying the protagonists of youth through time in images and the silent thousand words.
