




On the afternoon of December 19, teachers and students at Kent School came together to celebrate the annual Christmas festival. On this joyous and special occasion, everyone set aside their study and work, embracing the holiday with laughter and cheer.
The evening was co-hosted by four students: Han Ke (Amethyst), Li Guanbo (Andy), Lou Zhenting (Alec), and Yan Ruohan (Aster). As Principal Rob narrated the “Christmas Story,” our celebration officially commenced in an enchanting atmosphere filled with wonder. The subsequent performances were captivating, eliciting enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Ding Zhixuan (Robin), Shen Jinnan (Jonathan), and Zhu Yize (Troye) delivered an energetic performance of the song “You See Me,” radiating youthful vitality. Jin Eryu (Helen) captivated the audience with a solo rendition of “Perching Phoenix,” infused with poetic tenderness. Chen Chen (Bruce) and Lou Zhenting (Alec) performed “Chengdu,” which resonated deeply with listeners. Ma Yushu (Chelsea) presented “Bloom,” a piece that expressed a yearning for dreams through its soothing melodies, enveloping the audience in hope and aspiration.
Teacher Justin Zhang performed a piano solo, whose clear notes flowed like a gentle stream in the mountains, imparting a soothing magic that alleviated the pressures weighing on everyone’s hearts, bringing immense peace and comfort.Zhao Zijia’s Cantonese song “Under Mount Fuji,” along with the English duet “From the Start” performed by Qiu Peile and Yan Ruohan, Katya Zheng’s interpretation of the Russian song “The Most Beautiful Future,” and Zoe T’s heartfelt rendition of the Japanese song “Running Towards the Night” all contributed to elevating the atmosphere of this memorable evening, showcasing the unique charm inherent in diverse cultures.
Additionally, Teacher Heather and her students’ Christmas play added vibrancy to the event, allowing attendees to relive classic Christmas narratives while drawing warmth and hope from them. Christmas transcends mere celebration; it embodies a precious gift of love and hope. Throughout this event, smiles were shared among participants as they exchanged blessings—planting seeds of warmth within each other’s hearts. This collective longing for beauty in life coupled with mutual support will undoubtedly propel us forward. The evening concluded successfully with heartfelt blessings from Principal Rob alongside all hosts, wishing that the warmth and joy characteristic of this festive season accompany everyone always.
