Based on the basic principles of project-based learning, the subject knowledge needed to achieve a certain task, and cultivate good learning qualities of clear goals, scientific methods and the spirit of achieving success. The course Features a focus on student project critical thinking, stimulating students’ interest in subjects, teamwork, application of theoretical knowledge and cultivation of students’ practical ability.
Recently, teachers from Zhangjiagang Foreign Language School and Oxford AQA International Curriculum Center led the students to complete the construction of a hydraulic excavator. Building the hydraulic excavator gave the students practical experience and an opportunity to explore their creativity. In the process of creation, students intuitively experimented with the working process of hydraulic excavator and used the knowledge they learned (hydraulic transmission) to explain scientific phenomena, realize the relevance between knowledge and life in practice, and cultivate scientific literacy.
