Kent’s outstanding students share their experience

On December 20th of last year, the international department of Zhangjiagang Foreign Language School held an outstanding students learning experience sharing session. Three outstanding students from the senior year shared their learning experience over the past three years with the students and teachers at the department.

At the start of the lecture, Zhou Rui shared her Cambridge interview experience. She started off with a quote from Tagore’s beautiful poem, “I leave no trace of wings in the air but I am glad I have had my flight”; encouraging everyone to work hard not have any regrets when they reach the end of the tunnel. Next she emphasized the importance of standardized scores. The importance of standardized scores as the “window” to world renown universities. Foreign universities also make the first round of application selection based on the applicant’s standardized scores. TOEFL and IELTS scores are more than just numbers, they are a representation of a student’s English proficiency level and an important requirement for an education abroad. Zhou received many awards and achievements during her study at Kent and recently an interview invitation to Cambridge University.

She hopes that all students will pay attention to the language exams before is too late because it can be very challenging. The earlier one starts to prepare, the bigger the advantage one will have when the time comes to take the exam.

After Zhou, Wu Yi, also known as “Suzhou Little Liu Wen” shared here experience. She was the winner of the Shanghai International Model Contest in 2017. Wu believes that school only cultivates a student’s learning ability so that they are can be capable of succeeding in a university environment. Not only that, but also to have a positive outlook on life and have an upright moral standing. Wu Yi has already received admission an offer from the University of Southampton in the UK for Fashion Management.

Qianqi Xia, who is currently a senior and the the student council present; recently received an admission offer from the University of Manchester Business School, shared her experience studying at Kent. She believes Kent has built her character and made more courageous and more willing to express herself. Over the duration of her study at Kent, she has been involved in numerous activities. Regarding her choice to study at Kent School, she said the school offer an international quality education and a pathway to leading universities worldwide. The OSSD program available at Kent is more focused than other standardized exams are and is accepted at top universities world over.
